History and education
  • the training program for future social educators was introduced in 1992
  • first it was paired with nursery school education (dual major program), but since the second half of the 1990s it has been an independent training course
  • a major development was the launch of the training course for Cultural Managers in 2004, this training proved to be greatly popular
  • the year 2006 marks another significant change in the history of the system of the Faculty introducing the two-tier system in Hungarian higher education (BA, MA); as a result, the duration of qualification in our first-degree programs was formulated as follows
    • Nursery School Teacher training: 6 semesters
    • Nursery School Teacher training (specialization: gypsy): 6 semesters
    • Social Pedagogy: 6+1 semesters
    • Infant and Child Development: 6 semesters
    • Social Sciences: 6 semesters
    • Infant and Child Development (higher-level vocational training): 4 semesters
    • Social and Youth Work (higher-level vocational training): 4 semesters
  • the extremely popular MA program in Human Resources Counselling was launched in 2009
  • Postgraduate Specialization degree programs are organized in 7 counties besides the Faculty’s own location

The activities of several different research groups established in our Faculty are becoming increasingly intensive, and more and more gifted students are getting involved in them. Some of the most important ones are:

  • Visual and Music Pedagogy Horizon
  • Society in Change - Childhood in Change
