Twenty years of partnership for international students 22. Nov. 2024

- The University of Debrecen's Coordinating Center For International Education (NOKK) started working with international education agencies almost thirty years ago, systematically seeking partners in the Far East and the Middle East who could help internationalise the university. iStudy China and Vietnam CentrePoint have been our key and stable partners in this process for twenty years," Attila Jenei told hirek.unideb.hu.

The director of the Coordinating Center For International Education of the University of Debrecen emphasized that these international collaborations have significantly contributed to the expansion of the university's English language courses since the 2000s.

- Seventy percent of the foreign students of the University of Debrecen come to our institution through foreign agencies. We are pleased and proud that these relationships have not stagnated during crises, international conflicts or pandemics, but have generated further growth. At the anniversary celebrations, we could see that our former students are making a name for themselves all over the world, and through NOKK, the University of Debrecen has not only provided opportunities for further study and university education for foreign students, but has also led these young people to the gateway to a successful career," added Attila Jenei.

The Coordinating Center For International Education at the University of Debrecen works with almost three hundred international intermediary organisations and agents. Due to the extensive network of partners, in the academic year 2024/2025, almost 2100 new foreign students started their studies on UD's English-language courses.
