Expanding international connections in the field of agriculture 11. Mar. 2024

On the basis of the partnership agreement signed within the framework of the 1st Egyptian-Hungarian Rectors' Conference, the University of Debrecen and Mansoura University aim to establish bilateral relations in higher education, science and culture, as well as to implement and promote research as well as student and faculty mobility.

“Within the framework of this agreement, the experts of the Faculty of Agriculture of Mansoura University and the Nyíregyháza Research Institute of Agricultural Research and Agricultural Economics of the University of Debrecen plan to share professional experience, conduct joint academic research, and cooperate in the field of academic publications and international student recruitment. In addition, they wish to work together on courses, training programs and educational material packages in the future,” said Endre Harsányi, Vice-Rector for Sectoral Development at the University of Debrecen, responsible for the development of agricultural and food science, to hirek.unideb.hu.


The objective of the Egyptian-Hungarian Rectors' Conference was, among other things, to explore new opportunities for research cooperation in the future. In addition to agricultural sciences, the experts identified the development of partnerships in the field of water management as a first priority. Irrigation farming and the development of crop varieties resistant to weather changes were also discussed in the context of agricultural production.
At the international forum, which was organized for the first time, the heads of Hungarian institutions of higher education were represented by Minister János Csák and a delegation of sixteen members of the Hungarian Rectors' Conference, who were received by Minister Mohamed Ayman Ashour, the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt and the rectors of seventeen Egyptian institutions of higher education.
